Around the Clock
Nursing Care
At Sarsfield Colonial Home, the health and well-being of our residents are our highest priorities. Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals provides 24/7 nursing care to ensure comfort, safety, and peace of mind for residents and their families.

A Registered Nurse (RN) is on duty at all times, working in 8-hour shifts.
A Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is available seven days a week during the day and evening.
Our compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSW) are highly trained to provide attentive and respectful care.
Residents receive regular medical attention, with a physician visiting bi-weekly and conducting comprehensive physical examinations upon admission and annually thereafter. Detailed reports of medical findings are carefully documented, and additional consultations with specialists or hospital visits are arranged as needed.
For added peace of mind, a doctor is on-call 24/7 and can provide weekend and after-hours visits if necessary. Families are always welcome to contact our nursing staff to schedule an appointment with the physician, or residents may choose their own doctor, provided they comply with nursing home regulations.

Physiotherapy &
Restorative Care
We prioritize the physical well-being of our residents through personalized physiotherapy and restorative care programs designed to support mobility, comfort, and overall health.
Our Physiotherapist (PT) visits weekly to assess new residents and provide care as needed.
A Restorative Care Program is developed by the PT and carried out with the help of Physiotherapy Assistants and Personal Support Workers (PSWs), ensuring residents receive the support they need.
The program includes gentle movement exercises, ambulation support, and activities designed to enhance comfort and physical function, such as range of motion exercises, retraining for daily living tasks, and assistive eating devices.
If needed, the PT may recommend specialized mobility aids such as walkers or canes in consultation with the Occupational Therapist (OT).
Occupational Therapy: Personalized Support for Daily Comfort
For residents who require seating assessments or specialized equipment like wheelchairs, geriatric chairs, splints, or pressure-relief pads, our Occupational Therapist (OT) is available for support. The OT visits weekly, offering follow-ups at no cost to residents, while new assessments require a one-time fee.
Through these therapy programs, we aim to enhance comfort, promote movement, and support residents in their daily routines with care and compassion.
Dietary Services
We believe that a dining experience that prioritizes good nutrition and enjoyable meals is essential to our residents’ well-being.

Dining is a shared experience, and we invite family members to join their loved ones for meals when possible. Residents and their families also have a voice in meal planning through our Resident and Family Council.
With a seating plan designed to meet both care and social needs, mealtimes at Sarsfield Colonial Home are more than just nourishment—they are moments of comfort, connection, and community.
